Get behind our girls!

PhysioSW19’s Parys Edwards is part of a 4 woman team from Ful-On Tri who will be attempting to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats (LEJOG) non-stop as a cycling relay this August. The team includes Jessica Taylor, Natalie Creswick, and Emma Williams.

Each team member will ride for 2 hours before swapping to the next cyclist and resting until their next turn. They will sleep and eat in a support vehicle that will be following each rider.

It is predicted that the attempt will take somewhere between 48 and 64 hours to cycle the distance of approximately 1000 miles.
The team is raising money the Dave Aitchison SportsAid fund and need your help to raise as much money as possible for this great cause. Please visit and support the team, click here »
The LEJOG team thanks you in advance.

The world's most beautiful marathon.

This running Mecca celebrated its 40 year anniversary this year - a great year to do my first! The Two Oceans is both a half and ultra marathon (56 km or 35 miles) run in and around Table Mountain in Cape Town on Easter Saturday. As a completely unbiased Cape Townian, it had to have been one of the best races I have ever run. The early morning start ensures a breathtaking sunrise over the mountain even before you lose your breath going up the first hill. And even at that hour the roadside is populated with supporters which include brass bands, Cape Coloured minstrels and African dancers, and of course as was in my case, monstrously supportive and vocal friends and family. The atmosphere is phenomenal, the energy palpable and the smiles widespread. Then, once that finish line is crossed, home for a quick shower before heading down to The Foresters Arms aka Forries to continue the festivities under the African sun.

The Two Oceans is one of the highlights in both the Cape and South African running calendars, with the Ultra often being used as a training run for the Comrades Marathon that follows in June. Few people know that there is a "Friday" Two Oceans which has been run since 1990 to accommodate the runners who celebrate the Sabbath on Saturday, as well as a friendship run for friends and families on Good Friday. There is a huge international contingent, with the Russian ladies trying to break Frith van der Merwe's course record of 3h30:36 (1989) and the Zimbabweans taking charge of the ever quickening half marathon.

This is a superb day out, and what a way to celebrate a birthday!

Personal Trainer / Triathlete / Cyclist

SW19 was recommended to me after numerous unsuccessful attempts had been made to put right a niggling calf injury. With a busy race schedule over the course of the year, Toosie used a combination of massage and acupuncture to rectify the injury that caused me problems and get me in shape for the competitive season.

I was impressed by the knowledge of the staff and the application of the treatment administered, where exercises were recommended to treat the cause of the problem, and reduce the chance of my calf injury returning.

Working as a Personal Trainer and Sports Therapist at FIT in Wimbledon Village, I fully understand the importance of good phsyio, and I don’t hesitate to recommend clients to PhysioSW19. I found the practitioners consummate professionals who provide a holistic approach to injuries, whether sports specific or not.

Dan Holmes
Functional Intelligent Training
The Basement
No 1 High Street
Wimbledon Village
SW19 5DX

Hey All,

Yes, I can finally say that I ran the Flora London Marathon in an official time of 5hr 13mins 59secs !!!!!!

Just want to thank everyone for all their support over the past 6 months or so. Many of you have given me words of encouragement and have had the belief in me that I would be able to finish the Marathon. Thanks for everyone who came on the day to see me run the last 400 meters, I really did appreciate that. Also a quick thank you to Toosie, my physio for the last 6 months. My legs worked perfectly on the day thanks to your healing hands !!!!!

I have to say a massive thank you to my wife, Dee, and little boy, Kiran, as they have hardly seen me for the last 4 months !!!!! All the nights I have walked through the door from work and then walked straight back out again for a training run must not have been easy to take. Love you both lots !!!!!!

All those dark cold nights pounding the streets of Wimbledon finally paid off on Sunday. To see all the people come out and line the streets of London and urge you on, to hear the noise of thousands upon thousands of people from the Embankment to the Finish Line made all the blood, sweat and tears of the training well worth it. I could have probably run a sub 5 hour Marathon but I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much as I did on the day !!!!!

At the last count, with all your donations, I have raised £2,714 !!!!! I still have to count the cash which I have been given so I am hoping to break the £2,800 mark. This money will help SANDS continue the great work they do, so once again, THANK YOU !!!!!!

Before anyone asks, I WILL NOT BE RUNNING THE MARATHON AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE!!

Matesh Patel
